A Fun Filled Family Day Out
Compton Verney Art Gallery and Park is a place where you can relax and enjoy a fun-filled family day featuring a variety of activities to capture the imaginations of visitors, both young and old.
From our woodland adventure play area, willow tunnels and nature trails to all-weather explorer backpacks and art-related drop in workshops every school holiday, there are adventures around every corner for your children to explore.
The welcome centre has an interpretation area with a sensory wall revealing what is going on in the parkland and the latest developments on new projects and activities.

Exhibitions for all Ages
All of our exhibitions are family friendly and are suitable for all ages. Enter the joyful and colourful world of our summer exhibitions, The Marvellous Mechanical Museum and Rodney Peppè’s World of Invention. The program for 2018 also includes Ravilious & Co, Created in Conflict and Whistler and Nature.
Compton Kitchen offers a range of child friendly food options, including lunch boxes and little portions of main meals for little people so the whole family can enjoy lunch or a quick bite together. We also provide infant lunches for babies aged 6 months plus and are happy to warm bottles for you. Highchairs are provided in the café. Muddy wellies welcome!
Compton Verney’s commitment to families has been recognised by being long-listed twice for the Telegraph Kids in Museums Award and are compliant with the Family Arts Standards.
Something for Everyone
We are also home to six diverse collections of nationally and internationally significant art from around the world, including British Folk Art, Chinese bronzes, British Portraits and works from Northern Europe and Naples. You can also find objects of inspiration and original textile designs by Enid Marx in our Marx-Lambert Collection.
Compton Verney offers something for every member of the family from our children’s adventure playground, willow tunnels to our popular nature trails, there’s always plenty to capture the imagination, stimulate the mind and keep children engaged.
All of this alongside our exciting events programme, including fun family activities, adult workshops, lectures, artist’s talks and daily tours.
