The Royal Gardens at Highgrove

Nr. Tetbury, Gloucestershire.

Highgrove is the stunning private residence of TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, near Tetbury in Gloucestershire.

Commitment to Sustainability

Since 1980 when the Prince of Wales first arrived at Highgrove, His Royal Highness has devoted much energy to transforming the gardens around the house, which are opened annually for visitors to share in their enjoyment and are renowned as some of the most inspiring and innovative in the United Kingdom.

Created with imagination and passion by the Prince over the last 38 years, the series of interlinked organic gardens reflect his deep commitment to sustainability, as well as a natural artistic ability. As an important haven for a rich variety of flora and fauna, the gardens have been developed to not only please the eye, but sit in succinct harmony with nature.

Discover how the Prince has Transformed the Gardens

From the classic order of the Cottage Garden to the pastoral beauty of the Wildflower Meadow, discover how the Prince has transformed a landscape which was once merely lawn into an ever-changing canvas of magnificent garden scenes, along with hidden curios and horticultural innovations, on a tour that offers a personal perspective of this much-admired public figure.

One of my great joys is to see the pleasure that the garden can bring to many of the visitors and that everybody seems to find some part of it that is special to them.” HRH The Prince of Wales.

A Tour to Suit All

Members of the public can visit Highgrove on selected dates each year, beginning with Spring Walks between February and March, followed by Champagne Tea Tours, Supper Tours, and Individual Garden Tours from April to October, and visitors can also browse the Highgrove Estate Shop, which is stocked with unique products of artisan design, as well as enjoy a delicious menu in the beautiful setting of the Orchard Restaurant.

All profits made by Highgrove from the sale of garden tours, events and products are donated to The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Foundation, a grant-making trust that aims to transform lives and build sustainable communities by supporting a wide range of causes, from culture and heritage, to young people and education.
